Current mood: is it Friday yet?

I was not leaving yesterday without a win.
I was a little heavier-hearted than I expected; Fenway is usually somewhere I feel restored and rejuvenated, but I had my field box seat again, which is where I took the last good-news call about Leo two weeks ago. But the boys battled it out, Hansen did me proud, and while I've hardly looked at photos (by the time I got home and had some dinner* it was bedtime) I did get a couple from the celebration.

* I was glad that in pondering the existential dilemma of the ballpark--Dog? Ice cream? Dog? Ice cream?--I'd settled on "Both!"

Surreal moment of the day was gazing at the dugout rail and seeing Masterson look at Casey, then look at Casey's arm (next to him), then pull up Casey's sleeve for closer inspection.

(Note Brandon Moss: "I am going to stare straight ahead until whatever is happening is over.")

Masterson's all -pokey pokey poke- HAHAHA!!1!one!!11

But I do love walk-off celebrations. Everyone's so happy.

Sorry about the seats, though... that's gotta be tough. =/

swerve and I were at the game as well and when the "Tek stands on his head after making the out at home" play happened we both had the same thought - hoping you were there and managed to get a picture of it.
Good game. Long game. I'm still a little sun/wind tired. But a win sure does help that feeling a whole lot. :)

No picture of Tek, sadly--I was in the field boxes near home, and unfortunately it's just far enough back that you can't get a clear shot of the plate through the heads and arms. The good part of that is that I wasn't trying to shoot, and watching him all but standing on his head in slow motion as the ump waited to see if he held the ball was worth not shooting.

Same kind of conditions trying to shoot the walkoff celebration. I got a really neat unintended shot--the exasperated camera let me shoot a few with nothing at all in focus, and at least one is one of those "couldn't do that again if I tried" snaps.

Wonder what kind of story Casey is telling him. Masterson looks amused!

Now, I'd like to inspect that tattoo of Brandon's...

edit: can't spell

Justin held out his own arm and seemed to be indicating that even his pitching arm didn't have anything like Casey's muscle. Casey then extended and turned his arm, and... wow. Not just the definition but the sheer width of his upper arm.

I know Brandon (who looks like Bowden's big brother in that shot, doesn't he?) and his wife list their dogs in the media guide where most players list their kids, and it looks to me like above "DOGG" is a spiked collar. I'm on the case!

Justin's face in that last one? Priceless. I love how easily amused he is!

The shots of the walk-off mob are beautiful. It's just so fun to see everyone so excited like that! And you caught a fantastic game, too...
